    • Pang William Why would anyone need to please the Father... unless he/she is sin conscious. Right?

    • Joel Brueseke I think Paul explained the "pleasing to the Lord" thing pretty well in Ephesians 5. :)

    • Joel Brueseke It's part of the life of grace, not against it. :)

Easy... respond to the promptings of the HS.
      2 hours ago · · 3 people
    • Pang William Why then... many thinks they are acting according to the Spirit by condemn others?
    • Joel Brueseke I suppose partially because they don't understand grace.
      2 hours ago · · 1 person
    • Pang William So... it is grace that leads one to live according to the Spirit? But then why many saved by Grace through Faith still live according to the flesh and not according the Spirit?
    • Joel Brueseke We can choose.
      2 hours ago · · 2 people
    • Joel Brueseke I don't think Paul would exhort people to walk according to the Spirit if they didn't have a choice about it.
      2 hours ago · · 2 people
    • Chris Kimmell If you have a "How to" it isn't living in the spirit,,,,, just my opinion
      2 hours ago · · 1 person
    • Pang William Won't that... put us back to the law? Determine to choose between good and evil?
    • Tom NeSmith ‎:
      Many condemn because:
      1) They've never had an encounter with God and their "religion" is just rote regurgitation of rules and rituals.
      or
      2) They had and encounter with God and have forgotten who they are... probably because they were lured by the flesh (which means they were lured by the golden calf of religion)

    • Chris Kimmell Joel Brueseke is right on this one Pang William. I have to agree with him and I am the "calvinist",,,,,

    • Joel Brueseke Murder is evil. Staying faithful to your wife is good. I didn't have to use the law to determine that.

    • Pat Hux we are in the spirit if we are his.... period.

    • Joel Brueseke ‎(Just a couple of examples, to address the question of whether or not determining 'good' and 'evil' necessarily means returning to law).
      2 hours ago · · 2 people
    • Joel Brueseke Sure, we are in the Spirit. And we can choose to walk according to that, or not.

William, I think you read part of Paul's epistles, and you really enjoy them and base a lot of your thoughts upon them. But I think you also ignore a lot of what he wrote, too. That's ok, in the sense that our lives in Christ are not built upon what Paul wrote, nor our understanding of what Paul wrote. But if you're going to discuss 'biblical' doctrine with others, I think it would be good if you read it as a whole. Same with me, of course.

    • Pang William haha... if we are a spirit... won't we walk as one naturally?

    • Joel Brueseke If I murder someone, is that action "according to the Spirit?"

    • Joel Brueseke If I cheat on my wife, is that action "according to the Spirit?"

"Honey, I'm sorry I cheated on you, but I am in the Spirit so I know it's ok."

    • Pat Hux we are spiritual if we are His.... therefore we are in the spirit always, even if we don't act like it. it just is who we are. His spirit is in us and doesn't leave. We are born from above, of the spirit. That seed of the spirit grows in us until it is a tree with branches full of birds.

preferably, nice, sweet, heavenly doves. Not birds of paradise nesting in our hair.....lolz

    • Tom NeSmith ‎:
Christian life is simple as pie. It's so simple, we don't even have to think about it. In fact, a lot of the time... it's better if we don't. No need to get the bible down pat. We are people whose word is the same word as is found in the bible. We're walking bibles... not because we're fluent in bible-ese... but because we let the HS flow out of us. ;-)

    • Pat Hux hey, get the bible down pat...... ok, if you say so...... ;p

    • Tom NeSmith ‎:
Uhhh... simply respond to the promptings of the Holy Spirit. After a little practice... it's not only second nature... it IS our nature! ;-)
about an hour ago · · 2 people
    • Pang William My answer... What's that concern you? You live or He lives?
    • Steve Elsmore Did he say GET DOWN PAT, is he throwing something at you Pat?

    • Pang William I was trying very hard to... How to live not according to the flesh but to the Spirit? ... haha
      about an hour ago ·
    • Chris Kimmell Thats what makes it not so simple ,,, to live by the spirit is contrary to everything we have learned in life. It is not something you try to do, it is something that happens as you mature in Christ.

    • Steve Elsmore Ok William, here goes, ya ready.

You can live NOT (i.e. die) according the the Flesh. Then living to the Spirit is easy, it's all you have left.

    • Steve Elsmore The flesh is DEAD... the Spirit is alive... in you. Ain't that cool.

The culture of the Jews was built around mnemonics... or reminders. Every part of their lives was built to remind them of this law and that law. The prayer shawl. The long locks. The symbols on door lentils.... and a gazillion other things so they wouldn't accidentally forget something.
Law-bound Christians follow the Jewish (of fleshly) path of justification. They think that knowing the bible through and through will help them.
There is only one rule to follow... respond to the promptings of the Holy Spirit (and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh). Problem solved. After getting used to it... it's just the way we are. :-)

    • Pat Hux we try to make it complicated when it is not. we are in the spirit. just be. He will take care of the rest. He is the rest. We are resting. enjoy Papa's provision.
