You and your household shall be saved

Pang William Do you believe those who passed on but never received Jesus Christ (to your knowledge)... still saved??? Because you are saved... so is your household! Act 16:31 So they said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household."

I am making no false statement. YOU had to make your own commitment, BUT THAT CAME AFTER HIS TURNING YOUR HEART. So it has been with ALL THAT HAVE COME TO HIM. The foreshadowing He gave us in the first Passover AGREES with the statement in Acts, and so it is CONFIRMED BIBLICALLY, "in the mouth of two or three". You confuse the teaching when you change the words that are being presented. Why so little faith in HIM? He was able to turn your "desperately wicked" heart, AND MINE. We know from Scripture that not all will turn. We also have Scripture that those of the house of the saved, will be saved. That simply means that HE WILL TURN THEM, SAME AS HE TURNED US. I will say it again; this is NOT about ANYONE making it on "someone else's faith". Stop turning HIS WORD, AND MINE! KNOW THE TRUTH, AND BE FREE. I should think that one would be ECSTATIC about the CERTAINTY (BIBLICAL "HOPE") THAT ONE'S FAMILY WOULD BE DRAWN BY HIS OWN HAND TO HIM.

‎43 Jesus answered them, “Do not grumble among yourselves. 44 No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day. 45 It is written in the Prophets, ‘And they will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to me— John 6:43-45 (ESV)

63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life. 64 But there are some of you who do not believe.” (For Jesus knew from the beginning who those were who did not believe, and who it was who would betray him.) 65 And he said, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by the Father.” John 6:63-65 (ESV)

I have to agree with Matthew; if you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ you shall be saved, and if your household believes on the Lord Jesus Christ, they shall be saved. It is comforting to think that we can get everyone into Heaven by our own confession, but then we would be our family's saviour and not Jesus. Sorry to say, but we must all come in the faith that God has given us. When I stand before God, no one is going to be standing with me, not father, mother, sister, brother, or spouse. We have to be carefull to "rightly divide the Word of God."

    • Sharon Fryer I don't think the question was: can someone get into heaven off of our salvation!!! It's about us believing that we believe they will have the opportunity to receive of themselves...And for our own family members, we do have A Covenant Promise...So yes, I'm gonna keep believing God's Good Promise for all my loved ones......Even if it's at their last breath....I continue to speak that God sets them up to HEAR THE GOSPEL...WHICH IS THE POWER UNTO SALVATION...

NOT ON OUR CONFESSION! This is like a stuck record! THAT is NOT what is being said. At the first Passover, there was ONE LAMB (clue: the lamb is the PICTURE OF JESUS), but EACH PERSON HAD TO EAT SOME OF IT TO RECEIVE THEIR BLESSING. And the BLOOD OF THAT LAMB ON THE DOOR FRAME SAVED THEM ALL. But EACH PERSON HAD TO STAY "UNDER THE BLOOD" FOR THEIR SALVATION. The promise is that THEY WILL BE DRAWN TO HIM, BY HIM. Read John 6:44 again SLOWLY. It applies to EVERY ONE OF US. Not one of us did this without HIM DRAWING US, and so it is with those of our household. Each member of the jailer's household had to believe, and they did BECAUSE the jailer believed. They were drawn, because he was drawn.

William, none of us can say what happened IN your father just before he passed, but we all know that Jesus is quite able to go into him and save him at the last moment, and we have the picture of the thief on the cross as confirmation of that "last moment save".

Thank you all of you for the great encouragement. I see the tremendous sorrow, the pain, the hopelessness... in the mother who lost her elder son, her own mother in the same year after her younger son just three years ago. I see the curse working... How can I describe the sorrow I see? How could anyone suffered such a pain? What is peace and joys for me if the people around me are suffering? I want to bring them Hope but they refilled. My heart cried out to Daddy... and a still small voice whispered to me... "son, I understand!". From that moment I knew this family shall be saved! Because He gave me Hope in Act 16:31... you and your household! There are still 3 remaining members in this household and if one comes to Christ... the rest shall come! That's my belief! Hallelujah!!

Ummm no, the whole world is not saved. And those that were (and are) in Hell were not taken out (unless we are talking paradise.) There is no scriptural evidence for this AT ALL.

If you don't choose Jesus (the straight and narrow path and there is many who don't find it and wind up heading towards destruction) then you go to Hell. Period.

Roy, I like your positive mind set... stop telling them to get saved but telling them they are saved! It is just like the sun is always shinning and to enjoy the light in the house simply open the window. Same as Grace is already given to all, to enjoy the blessing simply open the heart!

While in the hospital seeing my cousin in his deathbed... I wanted to heal him and I lay my hand on him but that was the longest time in silent I had... my mind went blank, I couldn't say a word and finally I only able cried out one word... "Jesus"! That evening I asked Daddy... What happened? Why can't I do it? Is it my faith? ... He led me to the following verse...

Php 3:12 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. ... Faith is in Him, a growing process, a fruit of the Spirit! True faith is unconscious! This I know... I am still growing.

Shirley, you have totally misunderstood the point of this discussion. I am not telling people that... you don't have to receive Jesus as your Savior because one of your family member is a believer. I am talking about those who had not received Christ and passed on still have the chance to receive Christ! Because of "you and your household"... the deceased had been predestined to receive Christ because of you!

To my knowledge my late father died a sinner but because I believed and that makes me a righteous in Christ and so is my late father too. He has already or he will receive Christ without my knowledge! We think everyone must receive Christ in his/her life time. If not he/she will go to hell. Let me ask you this question: What about those lived before Christ? Are they all go to hell? I don't think so! Shalom.

    • Pang William God is love and God is fair... He'll give us many many chances to repent. 2Pe 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. ... Here it says ALL... should come to repentance! Still... ALL shall be saved! I believe and I like that faith... even if I'm wrong, I'm willing!
