Work without Faith is dead dead!

If we claim to have faith, but righteous works don't flow, than what kind of faith do we have. We do NOT work to prove our faith, but True Faith must produce Righteous works. Just like a Apple Tree must produce Apples. If that Tree never produces a apple what good is it? BELIEVE IN THE TRUE MESSAGE, and you will DO greater things!!!! SHALOM
    • Alejandro Grace Ararat do not get obsesed with works for all works here are defile. Do not give works the due respect as the way but His finished Work ALONE.

    • Barry Hansen The evidence of that finished work will manifest itself in the lives of True Believers in the form of Righteous Works. Works are not evil, the law was not evil either, the Law showed the Righteousness of God, but recognizing the order in which God's will is for our lives. Works do NOT produce Righteousness, neither did the Law produce Righteousness, BUT Faith in Christ produced Righteousness in us, That Righteousness produces Righteous Works, Those Righteous works should continue the Work of building up the Kingdom here on Earth.

Everything under the Sun was given for a purpose, when God rested He pronounced that the work He had done was Good. The purpose for everything created was to give God the Glory. The Law was given to Show the Greatest of God, a standard that no man could achieve, so is the Law bad? NO, not at all, but for man the Law is like poison, it kills. Works are good, for every good work produces a profit, but our works are filthy rags to God, so God working through us is Good, Self Righteous works lead to death. So in everything, God created it for Good, but it is how we use it, either God's way which is Good, or our way which is usually bad. Shalom

    • Bryant W. Shultz Righteousness or right standing is a gift because of the finished work of Jesus. There is nothing more or less that we as believers can do to produce what Jesus has already done. The first fruit of the spirit is Love. Rest in God and everything else comes effortlessly. Fulfilling the great commission should be this way not considered work. It is Christ in us that produces the fruit... love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance, against such there is no law. Galatians 5:21-23

A good image is that of a child steering the car, while the parent (or GRANDPARENT!) actually controls the wheel. The child applies steering input, and the adult modifies that input in appropriate ways. The child feels like they did it, and the adult "goes along with" that! Not a perfect picture, but a close enough sketch.

I like the MWBE version of Ephesians 2:8-10 8 Your salvation was a grace thing from start to finish, you had no hand in it; because it is all God's gift to you, because He believes in you.
9 If this could be accomplished through any action of yours then there would be ground for boasting, (but you did not even invent faith. It was His faith in you that made you believe in Him.)
10 We are engineered by His design, He manufactured us in Christ. (Greek, poeima, we are His poem, God finds inspired expression of Christ in us.) We are fully fit to do good. We are equipped to give attractive evidence of His likeness in us in everything we do.

I thought I was going to bed and I am leaving you with this... Romans 11:6 (KJV)

And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. Romans 11:6 (MWBE) Grace cannot suggest debt or obligation at the same time; the word grace can only mean what it says. The same argument goes for works, if salvation or any advantage for that matter is to be obtained according to prescribed regulations of conduct, then that’s it, no amount of grace can change the rules! Grace means grace, work means work.

I'm not missing the point. When a child is told by his mother, "go outside and play!", is it a "have to", or a "get to"? Jesus said do such and such, and the Apostles did. Paul, THE Apostle of Grace, was the MOST ACTIVE of them all! Listen carefully to Jesus - 32 But he said to them, “I have food to eat that you do not know about.” 33 So the disciples said to one another, “Has anyone brought him something to eat?” 34 Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to accomplish his work. 35 Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, then comes the harvest’? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest. 36 Already the one who reaps is receiving wages and gathering fruit for eternal life, so that sower and reaper may rejoice together. 37 For here the saying holds true, ‘One sows and another reaps.’ 38 I sent you to reap that for which you did not labor. Others have labored, and you have entered into their labor.” John 4:32-38 (ESV)

If my works are part of the FInished work of JEsus, that is His rest, then many are on shaky ground. How will anyone know they have done the works God requires? works (really they are fruits) are a by product of growing in grace...the fruit of the spirit are not a accurate identifying feature of a Christian (child of God) they are not meant to be a means of telling whether someone is born again or not...the robe of righteousness is invisible to the human eye, its also a free gift so works(actions) do not come into equation... good or bad....one can be the righteousness of God and look like the devil himself, without faith in that gift of righteousness(through the obedience of Jesus) grace does not flow... where there's no flow fruit does not grow.... sin will not have dominion over an individual when that individual understands that they are righteous through Jesus perfect obedience... yet they can be born again for 50 years and never produce any fruit due to wrong doctrine... evaluating someone by their doctrinal stance, fruit, conduct.. attitude, family line.. denomination.. background... anything that we can see is carnal, spiritual thruth is only discerned through the word of God and the holy SPirit.... "as Jesus is so are we in this world" does not apply to the outworking of that perfection... though believing that fact will produce fruit... the fact remains for every born again person -"as Jesus is so are we in this world"

‎11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, 12 training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, 13 waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works. 15 Declare these things; exhort and rebuke with all authority. Let no one disregard you. Titus 2:11-15 (ESV)

‎17 Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds. 18 They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart. 19 They have become callous and have given themselves up to sensuality, greedy to practice every kind of impurity. 20 But that is not the way you learned Christ!— 21 assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus, 22 to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, 23 and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, 24 and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness. 25 Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another. 26 Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, 27 and give no opportunity to the devil. 28 Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need. 29 Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. 32 Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:17-32 (ESV)

amen, my beloved brother Andrew... but first Jesus said "YOU ARE the light of the world" if people "try" to shine without knowing(believing) that they are the light of the world, they are under the law, the law produces the works of the flesh, and the flesh cannot produce... ishmael cannot inherit.. the focus should always be on who we are what we have in Jesus.. we become partakers of the devine nature through these exccedingly great and precious promises... the problem is no one is reinforcing these promises from the pulpit they are always talking about the outworking instead of getting people grounded in the truth of who they are in Christ... a dog's life produces dog's fruits,,, a duck life produces ducks fruits,, god's life produces god's fruits.. we don't focus on the fruits we make sure we got the life.... Jesus said.. if you don'teat my flesh and drink my blood you have no life in you.... so by feeding on Jesus crucifiction and finished work the life the Holy SPiriti quickens our mortal bodies to look more like the inside

    • Alan St Andrew Byron, my whole point has absolutely NOTHING to do with "trying to shine", rather the RESULT OF THEIR REALIZATION OF THE TRUTH OF THEIR NEW NATURE GIVEN. We don't just sit like a lump on a log in our REST. THAT REST is SO WONDERFUL, there is GREAT DESIRE TO BE ACTIVE, and that activity comes FROM that rest.

we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us, but first we must rest and be content with Jesus satisfying all our needs spirit soul and body and .. if we go out with a need(consciousness of lack) we try to fill that need with dead works to quench that consciousness of lack,, Jesus is everything we need but if we don't believe that we seek to fill that void with ministry and other good things, or we could look to fulfill it with other things... Paul learnt to be content in all because he knew(believed) through revelation knowledge and wisdom that Jesus was all He needed and he had all of him(His fullness) right now..

    • Alan St Andrew And the point I was making with 1 John 3:14 was NOT the "Whoever does not love abides in death." Not by a LONG SHOT! Try this, "By THIS we KNOW that we have passed OUT OF DEATH INTO LIFE, BECAUSE WE LOVE THE BROTHERS." THAT is the part that goes with what I said about sharing with those that HAVE RECEIVED THE GIFT. Again, I'm not being heard because minds are keying on ECHOES...
