Emergent Christians... What is that?

I received another be careful message, from a traditional believer(he called himself).. Trying to warn me against emergent Christians... What is that??? Does anyone know?? But after hearing this letter it really made me aware of just how paranoid religious people are.. I thought you had to be on drugs to be soooo paranoid!!
    • Allison Ake haha girl I was paranoid for a long time. I've heard the term "emergent" used around people like Rick Warren and the like
      December 11 at 2:30pm ·
    • Deneese Thompson But it's as if you ask the Lord in your heart and then He takes you and places you in a land mine and you gotta be careful what you do or how you walk... What happened to that supernatural protection that God places on his Children???

    • George Christ Odero most preacher believe that the only thing that can motivate people to live right is LAW! but how about "the love of Christ constrains us" It is for freedom that Christ set us free. and by the way, 'the strength of sin is the commandment!' if you want people to commit any sin just preach 'thou shall not' and they shall!

    • Pang William Dear Allison, it is the law... the devil has no other power except using the law against us, tempting us with the law, challenging us to do, keeping our eyes on ourselves... The whole world is under the law and thus the whole world is in his control... BUT now is the time that the Church awaken... Isa 60:1 Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you... that we the Church Lives only by the tree of LIFE and no more by the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

    • Michael Kuhlman John 8:44 says the satan is a liar and the father of all lies and what I see here is that He has been trying to spread nothing but a Big Lie. This is his nature and no truth in him. This is his nature to lie, just like it is the Fathers nature when he talks to tell the Truth. He cannot speak a lie when he says something. So when the devil or demons talk they speak lies and yes they use people that think they are christians to.

The Emergent church is a diverse movement. It is a reaction to what we call evangelicalism. It is a radical kind of evangelicalism that questions / challenges a lot of old ideas & practices of the church. There are many good brethren in the movement, others who are quite far out. Acceptance of a postmodern way of thinking is part of it to one degree or another. Many house type churches are emergent. I think we here on Gracebook would embrace the majority of emergent believers, and our reaction to legalism carries some emergent qualities.

Than you let God take the Drivers seat, and you surrender control, knowing that you are DEEPLY LOVED, HIGHLY FAVORED AND GREATLY BLESSED. It just gets better everyday, because of Amazing Grace!!!!

    • Pang William Many sincere believers actually not doing the works of the Church for themselves or wanting any complement... They whore heartedly want to give all glory to God... But because of human work nature, they think we are not honoring God if we don't serve in the Church. They are like Martha and not knowing that Jesus wants us be like Mary instead. Luk 10:38-42

      Monday at 9:13pm ·
    • Alan St Andrew William, that attitude reflects an internal "agitation", the "anxious about many things" that Jesus spoke to Martha about. He was not pointing at the physical activity, but rather the inner turmoil that drove Martha's frantic activity. We rest, but we by no means "inactive." We are internally at peace with Father.

      Yesterday at 1:54am · · 2 people
    • Alan St Andrew What is blasphemy? To call the work of Holy Spirit evil, as the Pharisees did. To deny the absolute goodness of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. - 28 “Truly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the children of man, and whatever blasphemies they utter, 29 but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin”— 30 for they were saying, “He has an unclean spirit.” Mark 3:28-30 (ESV)

This is taken from JP Daily Devotional today... By Jesus' feet... Just as Ruth lay at Boaz’s feet, the feet of Jesus is the place of redemption and blessings. Both Jairus the synagogue ruler (Mark 5:22) and the Syro-Phoenician woman (Mark 7:25–26) fell at Jesus’ feet. And there at His feet they received healing for their daughters.

When you take your place at Jesus’ feet, looking to Him for help, expect to receive His blessings. There is nothing to fear knowing that as Boaz did for Ruth, Jesus, your heavenly Boaz, will do for you all that you have requested!

    • Pang William George, I know it is a crazy and dangerous statement... but know this the flesh can never understand and accept it. The flesh is a self element, as long as self remain, there is a separation still in this Oneness mind set. As long as we think... Christ and us are two entities, we have not truly grafted into the vine.
      Yesterday at 3:06pm · · 1 person
    • Alan St Andrew It's even harder than that for the "fleshie" mind to grasp. When Father looks at us, He sees Jesus in our heart, and when He looks at Jesus, He sees us in His heart. Like the jewels in the breastplate, we retain our "color", and we reflect His. Example: Saul was quite the zealot, and in Paul that was sanctified, not removed. The useless part is CIRCUMCISED AWAY, and the rest is made holy, as in the tithe and the lump. All we lose of ourselves is that which is "STINKY!" ;)

      Yesterday at 3:47pm · · 3 people
    • Pang William George... seeking is to find the Truth. The Truth is already fulfilled, the cross accomplished, the work is finished... but we must seek to know it. Like a king who lives like a bagger cos he doesn't know he is a king. Once he knows, he won't live like a bagger anymore unless he doesn't believe. We never know if we don't seek, and it is no difference if we seek and found yet unbelief. There are still much more to seek! Hallelujah!!
