The word is made sweet in Christ

Now when they came to Marah, they could not drink the waters of Marah, for they were bitter. Therefore the name of it was called Marah. And the people complained against Moses, saying, "What shall we drink?" So he cried out to the LORD, and the LORD showed him a tree. When he cast it into the waters, the waters were made sweet... (Exo 15:23-25)

Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word... (Eph 5:25-26) Water is referred to the word of God and the tree is a picture of the Cross and Marah indicates times of difficulty. Only in Christ and His finished work at the Cross, the word is made sweet. Hear Him!

YES!!!

He was the branch at Marah, the bronze serpent, the ark of Noah, the Tree of Life in the garden, the ram in the thicket, the shofar that was blown, the red cord at the window...everything in the Word points to the cross and to Him, the Word made flesh!

Marvelous!! :)

Remember we were talking about Christian heavy metal songs last night? And we came to a conclusion that Christ is the heaviest metal as He was the Ark made from solid gold, the most precious and heaviest metal on earth...!!!

BTW, the fellowship last until 1.00am last night, and you should have stay...!!!

Praise our Lord indeed. You guys are marvelous! you're all so blessed to see Him through His word. Yes only in Him, the word becomes sweet and refreshes us.

Alan, I love that... the Ark in solid gold. No wonder God said "The gold and the silver is Mine". Yes Jesus ROCK!!

Alright, don't shoot me but....

the mercy seat (Christ) is solid gold but I thought the ark itself was wood overlaid with gold inside and out indicative of our humanity overlaid with His righteousness. I do not believe His righteousness just "covers" us, I believe we ARE His righteousness but the picture is of us retaining our humanity while being made pure. Yes??

Alan!! 1 AM??? Jesus is not only the Rock but also likes to rock, eh?

Jamie,

You are right and precise about the Ark. The mercy seat is made of the solid gold. We guys are a bit careless in rushing through thing.

The Christian rock music was part of the sharing tropic that night and never have the idea that we were on these rock music until 1 AM that night eh! This need a bit of explanation...

It was the sharing of His Grace that made us stay up late that night...

Jamie, if we can have you here in our fellowship, I bet this will last until dawn... until the Morning Star is out!

Ya, Jesus ROCK!!!

We always thank God for all of you, mentioning you in our prayers. We continually remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.
For we know, brothers loved by God, that he has chosen you, because (His) gospel came to you not simply with words, but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and with deep conviction. 1 Thess. 1:2-4.

The Morning Star has dawned in our hearts, has He not?? Our faces would be shining with a glory that is not fading, but that is being revealed...His Glory in our earthen vessels.

Brothers, I wish you could know the joy you both bring me; I am blessed and enriched by the Christ you keep before me.
