The goodness, and grace of God leads men into genuine repentance!
Beloved, On the day of Pentecost men from every nation under heaven were present in Jerusalem, and they heard the apostles
speaking in tongues, and each man heard the apostles speaking to each of them in their own language and they understood what they were saying! And they said: We do hear them speaking to us in our own language,"The wonderful works of God!"
The Holy Spirit was ministering to them through the gift of speaking in tongues, and given them the interpretation at the same time of the wonderful finished work of Jesus redemption of the cross!
The Holy Spirit preached the first sermon in a heavenly language through the apostles, and gave each man the interpretation to understand the gospel of grace! Beloved, it was not a message of repentance, but a message of grace and Gods goodness!
It was a message of Gods wonderful works that were accomplished through the wonderful finished work of Jesus, and 3000 were saved that day! They asked Peter. What shall we do? and Peter said graciously: Call on the name of the Lord and you shall be saved!
When we preach the wonderful works of the cross, people will ask, what must I do? without us saying repent, and turn from your wicked ways! Beloved, we are to preach what the Holy Spirit preached in that first message!
The law of first things mentioned: is for us to understand that what is mentioned in the bible for the first time is of great significance, and it behooves us to find out what it is! And in Acts 2: 11, 21 the first thing mentioned is the Holy Spirit preaching the wonderful works of God through the gift of tongues, and divine interpretation under the new covenant of grace!
Therefore, the Holy Spirit is teaching us how to minister under the new covenant of Jesus; And that we are to preach only the wonderful, perfect, finished work of Jesus Christ, that requires nothing else! Amen! And The Holy Spirit will lead them to Jesus Himself!
Now in Acts 3: 19 Peter preached repentance to the religious Jews that were residents of Jerusalem who were living under the law!
This repentance is a repentance from dead works of self righteousness under the old law covenant, and not of sin! In Hebrews 6: 1~ it says; not laying again the foundation of repentance of dead works, and faith towards God!
As preachers of grace, we are not to preach a turn or burn and repentance of sin message! Because for men to genuinely repent, all we need to do is tell them about the goodness of Gods grace, and His wonderful works of the cross, and God will lead them to Salvation who is the person of Jesus Christ! Beloved, the Holy Spirit has shown us, and has proven to us that grace is the goodness of God that leads men to REPENTANCE under the new blood covenant of Gods grace in Christ!
Or do you despise the riches of His goodness and forbearance and patience; not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?
Romans 2: 4
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death! Romans 8: 2~ Beloved on the first Pentecost at Mount Sinai God gave the law to men and 3000 died that day! But 50 days after the resurrection of Christ when Pentecost had fully come God gave the Holy Spirit to men and 3000 were saved and made alive! The Holy Spirit has replaced the law! For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life!
Grace is God pouring out His goodness upon us, but not because of how good we are, but because of good He is!
