But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? (Mat 5:44-46)
How to love one who murdered your family? How to bless one who cheated you of a big sum? How to be good to those who hate you? How to pray for those who persecuted you? It is surely impossible. It is already hard enough to forgive, what to say love. But God showed us how: In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins (1Jn 4:10) with His own blood and gave us His righteousness, took upon Himself all our transgression and iniquities and gave us all that He has... wisdom and knowledge, riches and honor, health and long life. He suffered the cross so that we can become the sons to the Father.
And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him. (1Jn 4:16) We love because He first loved us. Not that we love but that He loves us and everyone else. Therefore only in Christ, through Him and by Him we love another by His love, not our love. Behold unto the cross and let His love dwell in you... you will give to your brothers in need. Always remember, all that is His is yours and all that is yours is also His. So... you are not giving yours away but His. And He wants you to give and more shall given back to you. Hear Him!
