Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed. For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls. (1Pe 2:24-25)
For what credit is it if, when you are beaten for your faults, you take it patiently? But when you do good and suffer, if you take it patiently, this is commendable before God. For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps: "WHO COMMITTED NO SIN, NOR WAS DECEIT FOUND IN HIS MOUTH"; who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously; (1Pe 2:20-23)
How to follow His steps? How to be like Christ? By being baptized, we were buried with Christ into His death. Christ has been raised from the dead by the Father's glory. And like Christ we also can live a new life. (Rom 6:3-4) Therefore like Christ we all display the Father's glory. We are being changed to become more and more like Him so that we have more and more glory. And the glory comes from the Father, who is the Holy Spirit. (2Co 3:18) Jesus said: "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing." (John 15:5) Behold unto Jesus Christ for only in Him shall transform us inside out, not we try to imitate Him in our own strength. Always remember for without Him we can do nothing. Hear Him!
