Neither cold nor hot

"Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches." (Rev 3:20-22)

Why is Jesus not inside the church but outside knocking at the door? Jesus said: "No one puts a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; for the patch pulls away from the garment, and the tear is made worse. Nor do they put new wine into old wineskins, or else the wineskins break, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But they put new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved." (Mat 9:16-17) "I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth." (Rev 3:15-16) "And no one, having drunk old wine, immediately desires new; for he says, The old is better." (Luk 5:39) So you are neither cold nor hot, neither Old nor New, you will not be accepted in Christ for the Old and the New can not mixed. "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent." (Rev 3:19) Hear Him!
